Current drain for KSB2

Dean44
I am looking at upgrading my K2 with the KSB2. The manual states 10-15 mA of current drain and I would like to know if this turns off while in CW mode, or if there is a way to turn it off. I will be using my K2 for wilderness hikes and I will need to turn off non-essential drain.

Thanks!

Re: Current drain for KSB2

If you look at the schematic you will find that there isn't a special
voltage that is controlled going to the KSB2, just the normal 8R and 8T
power lines.  So no, this board will be on all the time.  BUT, 10 to 15 in
the grand scheme is not much for having SSB available on the trail.  The K2
is world class in low power consumption for what it is.
