I swore I was going GREEN for SKN. All green. You know, Heathkit.
After a few hours with my Heathkit CW Twins getting clobbered by stations a KHz away, I thought what could it hurt? I don't have to TELL anyone I'm using an AF-1. So I hooked it up.
But no, it wasn't enough. It sat there, across the room--its dark, lifeless LCD mocking me. The operating ease. The selectivity. The blinking lights. NR. NB. Knowing exactly what frequency it was on. No tuning. No spotting.
The K-line would not leave me alone.
I gave in. I'm weak. Human. I had no chance against its siren call. The K-Line. As natural with a 50 year-old Vibroplex as it is with a keyer. Ahhhhh...
