As we watch the reports of "newbies" just getting their new K2 kits with
serial number approaching 5000 a lot comes to mind. Aside from the apparent success of some good guys: Eric & Wayne. I think of all the excitement, and "back to hands-on" that these little boxes from Aptos have provided us. All the thinking, the re-familiarization with things technical, both AF & RF. Since when I build, it is not always perfect, I do get to remind myself of theory !!!! o my gosh !!! THEORY !!!!!#@!$#! Then on to operating,,,, my initial goal was to: 1- build something, 2- get cw right. But I got to mobile !!! even took my k2/battery on an Alaskan Cruise, working the world in the sunlight while everyone else is asleep, sans crew. My Pelican case has been around the US ,incl HI AK, Barcelona, then on a cruise in the Med,,, and got used by Greg SU9FL in Cairo. Not Illinois. Notice that none of this is because it just happens to be technically A MOST FANTASTIC radio. I don't know about you others, but Elecraft, at least for me, put a lot more ZOOM into Ham Radio. Thanks to Wayne & Eric for A BUNCH OF EXCITEMENT & FUN....
