DVR audio

rcbenedict1545
When I play a recorded message audio transmitted is ok , confirmed by listeners and monitoring remote SDR.
What I hear in my earphones with monitor turned on is distorted.

Re: DVR audio

Check CONFIG:TX MON, to see if it is set to NOR or FAST (FAST should have
no "distortion", because you hear unprocessed MIC audio, with no delay).
This applies to both your own MIC audio and KDVR3 recordings.

Check also CONFIG:TX DVR.  Is it set to NOR or IND?  If IND, there are two
different monitor levels, one monitor level for your own voice spoken live
into the MIC, and a second level that adjusts the DVR message monitor level
(Voice Memories).  Perhaps the latter is set too high?

With CONFIG:TX DVR set to IND, You have to hold down the MON knob a second
time to alternate between adjusting DVR MON level and the MIC MON level.

If that's not it, check if adjusting the CMP level during playback makes
any difference.  Is it also possible that RF is getting into your
headphones?  Does it go away when you use a dummy load?

Re: DVR audio

Does FAST also remove the light delay in the audio?

Yes.  However, with FAST enabled, you cannot hear what the speech
compressor is doing.  Everything you hear while transmitting is
"unprocessed."
