Is anyone aware of a way to select the DVR recorded messages externally on
a K3S? I don’t want to wear out the M1-M4 memory buttons on the rig and I’m already having problems with a new K-Pod where the buttons are sticking and not starting a recorded message until pressed 2 or more times. Not good during a SSB contest. I’m disappointed that the KPod buttons are already wearing out. Wish someone would create an aftermarket push button unit for this. I have heard that n1mm contest logging can be set up to use the F keys for this but that it’s not easy to set up? In Writelog, I activate the DVR using the F keys on my computer keyboard.
This works very well and IT was easy to set up using N6EE's instructions. I am sure that it can be done with other logging software such as N1MM, too. In N1MM+:
Cat Macro strings used to play back Radio # 1 internal K3 CW/data messages or DVR voice keyer messages * M1 = {CAT1ASC SWT21;} * M2 = {CAT1ASC SWT31;} * M3 = {CAT1ASC SWT35;} * M4 = {CAT1ASC SWT39;} 73, Jim N7US -----Original Message----- In Writelog, I activate the DVR using the F keys on my computer keyboard.
