DX is always there but at the solar minimum just a bit harder to work.
Requires patience and diligence.
Case in point, yesterday at 2230Z I worked the guys on Willis
Island-VK9DWX with my trusty K3 on 20m phone barefoot with a Carolina
Windom. (I think I heard that they are running K3's there?)
BTW the K3 is turning out to be an outstanding SSB performer. With the
TX EQ, ESSB, excellent processor, TX noise gate and the nifty new EQ
manager utility from Bill N2BC, the radio exhibits more SSB features
and flexibility than another other rig I have used in 30+ years of
DX'ing on phone.
Congrats to Wayne and Lyle on its design and implementation.
Hear weak DX? Give a call and you may be quite surprised who comes back.
