Mike Miller-14
Manual is confusing to say least...
I am new to digital modes...
If want to decode RTTY...just using the K3.  what mode do you set radio..for.?

AFSK A, FSK D or PSK D   ??????? or DATA A  ??

Likewise what mode do set for PSK 31?

Yes, the K3 manual assumes familiarity with the digital modes and isn't
intended to be a primer for RTTY and PSK.

Either AFSK A or FSK D will allow the decoder to be enabled for RTTY decode.
The received text will scroll in the VFO-B display.  (AFSK A and FSK D are
two different ways to key RTTY transmission, irrelevant for receiving.)

PSK D will allow the decoder to be enabled for PSK31.

The decoder is enabled by the hold-TEXT DEC button.
