Default Settings for K-3?

Ron Midwin
Gentlemen:

Re my K-3, S/N 1997;

I just downloaded and installed

MCU 3.41 / DSP 2.37, 10-02-2009

And also the latest Utility, K3 Utility (1.2.9.30)

Everything sounds OK, and seems to work, but I'm wondering if there is a way
to set the radio to the "default" settings?  I've made so many adjustments
since I've had the K-3, I would like to see how far I'm off from the
"factory settings"?

BTW I have just the main receiver.

I've seen several recommendations on this link to optimize various features,
but it would be nice if I could go back to the default, and then play with
features and save them.

I see there is a save settings tab in the utility.  Is this where most
operators save various setups?

Re the RF Gain Calibration, I don't have an XG2, so is doing this
calibration useful?

RF GAIN CALIBRATION PROCEDURE UPDATED: You?ll need the

latest revision of K3 Utility and a 50-microvolt signal source (e.g.,

an XG2).

Thanks,

Re: Default Settings for K-3?

Dave, G4AON
You can check each parameter in the menu by pressing the "DISP" button,
which will show the default settings.

The manual describes how to reset a K3 to factory defaults, look up
"Parameter Initialization" it's page 63 of the D2 version of the manual.

As one of the second tier of field testers, I've messed with the
firmware and settings of my K3 quite a lot and never needed to do a
factory reset. There aren't many parameters that alter how the radio
behaves and they can be fairly quickly checked with the DISP button.
