To all you PSK-31 folks out there. If you haven't adapted a computer
interface yet here's an idea. I just finished adding an interface very
similar to Tom Hammond's circuit that's posted on the elecraft page to my
K2. The only difference is that I pass the audio signal to unused pin-8 of
the microphone plug (ICOM IC-HM12) rather than add a connector on the back.
This signal then runs into an MFJ soundcard interface MFJ-1275 where it is
connected to the radio audio output circuit. This makes a nice interface
and liberates the volume control and speaker of the K2 while running digital
ops. The MFJ inerface box switches out the mic when running digital modes.
I plan to adapt it to interface my KAM+ TNC too. I'll mount a switch on the
front of the MFJ interface to switch the TNC in and out.
