Drilling an el-cheapo finger dimple into the K2 tunning knob

dw-4
I used a wood countersink with a rounded drill tip.
Went down about 2/8 inch.
I found that a metal strip is just below the plastic surface of the
knob.
I went through this.
I made sure it was smooth, but it would have been better if I'd had a
machine shop do this.

Of course it doesn't look professional.
But it works smooth and is a functional improvement on the cheap.

WILLIS COOKE

I am not sure how big the K2 knob is.  Could you use a K3 knob that already has the dimple?

The main K3 knob is 1.75 in diameter, the second tuning knob is 1.00 in.  I do not find the dimple all that useful and rarely use it on the K3.  The tuning knob on my TS-850 is 1.875 in and does not have a dimple.  I never missed it.
