I know that you can get an empty case, the ec2 to match the k2

about 6-8 " wide... with grilles for 2 spkrs,,,,front facing, of course.

Yes! Something around 7 inches wide, such that front firing speaker
and power supply will fit; making the side-by-side combo suitable for fiting a rackmount cabinet space.
