EQP "Halftime Report"

Craig Smith
As the Elecraft QSO Party nears halftime, here is the outlook from Colorado.
The 20 meter propagation gods weren't with us today.  Yesterday on 20 was
fine, as I worked both Europe and Japan.  Today was fairly dead.  Did snag
Nova Scotia early, but not any 1's or 2's all day!  Ended up with 49 QSOs
and 19 sections on 20.  Also snagged a New Zealand on 15 outside the
contest.  Will give it a try on 40/80 later this evening, but I suspect that
I've shot the vast majority of my wad already as my antenna situation on the
lower bands is less than pathetic.

I tuned around several times and never heard any signals.  I may not have
listened at the right time.

At least the cycle is bottoming out.  This propagation reminds me why there
seems to more of a demand for Alaska after we come out of the bottom of the cycle.

Worked KL7CW here -- nice signal. Hanging out on 7040 or so right now.
