Good morning folks,
I assembled a K3/10 + KBPF3 + AM filter (+ default 2.7Khz filter). After synth calibration, filter setup, ref oscillator calibration I performed TX gain calibration using Electraft K3 utility, but it fails immediately with *ERR TXG*. Filter setup is Fil1: none Fil2: 6.0Khz (0hz), 0db Fil3: 2.7 (-0.85Khz), 0dB Any idea of what the problem could be? Thanks Eric ve2shf REF: Starting 5 watt calibration Calibrating at 1.900 MHz IsSamplingComplete: Unexpected response "DS@@@@@>>@€€;" to "DS;" State 153 Calibration power settled at " 0.0 W ;" 5 watt calibration failed Elapsed time: 7 seconds ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Have you tried starting with a different power level setting on the
front panel control? I've had a similar problem and that fixed it. Alternatively, have you tried manual gain calibration? 73 Dave, G4AON K3/100 #80 ------------------- I assembled a K3/10 + KBPF3 + AM filter (+ default 2.7Khz filter). Make sure you have set the 2.7K filter as the TX for all modes where it
makes sense. (all but AM in your case it would appear) ~Brett On Sun, 2009-08-09 at 07:42 +0000, Eric Merlen wrote: > Good morning folks, > > I assembled a K3/10 + KBPF3 + AM filter (+ default 2.7Khz filter). Hi Dave,
yes I have tried starting with a different power level setting on the front panel control. The manual gain calibration doesn't work either. The power output measured is always 0W regardless of the power level setting on the front panel and SWR meter shows '--' Thank you Eric ve2shf On Sun, Aug 9, 2009 at 4:17 AM, Dave G4AON <[hidden email]> wrote: > Have you tried starting with a different power level setting on the > front panel control? Hi Bret,
Thanks for the suggestion. I confirm I set the 2.7Khz filter as the TX filter for all modes but AM where the 6Khz filter is used. I left FIL1 slot empty as I plan to add an FM filter at some point (and more filters for CW/data) later, but according to the manual, that's fine to do so. One think worth mentioning: I had to apply significant pressure on the three transistors mounted on LPA board when I installed the lower bottom panel because the transistors raised slightly above the bottom panel level. I don't know if it is normal (ensure good thermal contact?) or if I used the wrong screws somewhere. Reseat the antenna board or tuner board and make sure you have the SO239
connectors plugged into it correctly...? ~Brett On Sun, 2009-08-09 at 11:05 -0400, Eric Merlen wrote: > Hi Dave, > > yes I have tried starting with a different power level setting on the > front panel control. > > The manual gain calibration doesn't work either.
