Well, early for me at least. The dog woke me up around 5:30 AM local
time. Normally I don't get up for another couple of hours, but if I do
I go back to bed. Well, knowing how things are going to be at work
today and needing to get a head start, I got up, showered and a chance
to play a bit of early morning radio. Figured it would be a good time
to check out the bottom of 40m for some greyline. Sure enough! I heard
3D2NA (after several attempts to copy with very quick QSB and QRN).
Well, I used to do lots of DXing and am pretty up on prefixes, but I
didn't remember that one. After working Nao I looked him up and found
he is currently operating from Mana Island in the Fiji Islands
(OC-121). A quick calculations shows 7900 miles or about 1580
miles/Watt. Hmm, maybe I'll wake up early again tomorrow and try even
lower power!
