Good Evening,
I hope you are all having a good holiday weekend. I am going to get
some much needed rest when I send this note off ;) Some of you may be
away from your home stations but have taken along the camping rig just for
fun. It will be interesting to hear where you are camping and what kind
of antenna you are using.
We are having standard Oregon weather: wet, foggy, and cold. I just
can't seem to keep the chill out of the house. However, I did wait too
long to get the fire going so it takes a long time to heat up all the air
away from the fireplace. Sam is happy in his box right next to the
stove. He made sure to tell me to get the fire going right after he told
me to feed him dinner! Cats will be obeyed or else they make quite a
fuss. It is simpler just to give him what he wants ;)
I've been reading notes about how 6 or 10 meters is open. Maybe this
will translate into good conditions for the two nets tomorrow. I know
there is a DX contest going on so we may have to work around them.
Hopefully they will be able to hear us because they tend to use maximum
power to get through. We shall see.
Please join us:
Sunday 2300z (Sunday 4pm PDT) 14050 kHz
Monday 0200z (Sunday 7pm PDT) 7045 kHz
Until tomorrow,
Kevin. KD5ONS
