Good Evening All,
I hope your 2005 is starting off nicely. We are getting more snow but
it appears to be tapering off. The fir trees shed their load last night
approximately every 15 minutes. I did get some sleep but the whumping
noises did interrupt my slumbers.
I have gotten a few notes on using 80 meters so will list them when a
critical mass accretes. So far it looks like the band will stretch from
me approximately 1800 miles or so. Tom, N0SS, is about 1600 miles from me
as the crow flies. His central location will help us all get together if
he has the time to assist us on ECN/80. I still need to get the antenna
up but progress is being made. Hopefully tomorrow the ladderline will
snake into the house. The loop will not be strung by net time unless
everything proceeds quite rapidly. But, this week will see a new antenna
up and running. Now I need some idea of whether we should simply move the
40 meter net to 80 meters or try 80 meters one night during the week.
I've been told it opens up around 0100z thus the second net's time slot
would work for us. Let me all know what you think so I may get a
consensus opinion.
