Good Evening,
Heating season started today. Fifty-one degrees inside the house was
just a bit too cool for both of us. Plus the rainy season seems to have
started early. At least the little airshow in Hillsboro was fun. The
Thunderbirds flew over our house very close to the top of the fir trees.
The navigation beacon on top of our mountain was their guide. So we
wandered down into town and watched them for a while. Not a very big show
but it is local.
The sun has been acting up the last few days with the D layer absorbing
more than its fair share of RF some afternoons. The evenings have been
very nice however with good propagation across the continent on 40
meters. Hopefully 20 meters will be open Sunday afternoon so the net will
elicit checkins from all over. We shall see what the future brings. I
also hope the lightning ceases soon. This is very unusual up here so all
of my antennas are disconnected and the lines grounded. When I last
listened 20 meters had a lot of contest activity from 14059 down to 14005
kHz.
Please join us:
Sunday 2300z (Sunday 4pm PDT) 14050 kHz
Visit our web site:

Dan.
Until tomorrow,
Kevin. KD5ONS
