Elecraft CW Net Announcement

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
I hope you all are well.  I have heard a few of you on EQP and hope to
work a few more before I go to bed.  Only one contact on 80 meters so far
but it may get better soon.  Now for the quandry.  As of 2 AM we go
through a time change.  From standard time to daylight savings time.  Not
that any time truly gets saved but we move things around so folks get less
sleep.  Cows still get milked, cats get fed, birds wake up and sound the
day.  But we humans get to think we are changing something.  Ach!
Now the question: do we keep the local times and change the zulu time
or do we go to one hour later local time?  Since we changed local times to
allow for better operation during the winter months I think we should
change back to what we had before.  Thus 2300z will stay and Sunday 4 PM
will change.  That should give us the propagation we had about a month ago
which was fairly good.  As the sun keeps coming back northward we will see
even more improvement.  But the sun has the final say.  When it gets
speckled once again we should be able to work further more easily.
Since we've not used more than the East call for breaking pileups I
will simplify the notes to match what actually occurs.  Hail signs and
relays have worked well so they stay in place.  Now I go back to the other
room and see if I can work a few of you on 80 meters.

    Tomorrow:

1) Call by geographic area (East, All)
2) Hail signs  (first letter or two of the suffix of your call)
3) NCS help (as well as QSP/QNP <relay> help)

    Please join us:

Sunday 2300z (Sunday 4 PM PDT) 14050 kHz
Monday 0200z (Sunday 7 PM PDT)  7045 kHz

      Kevin.  KD5ONS
