Good Evening,
The weather has been quite mild this week. Not much rain, a little fog, and even a few hours of sunshine. It felt good to get out and walk even though the ground is soggy. A few deer have been spending time outside my window. It is fun to be working contacts and watch them at the same time. They can be within only a few feet of me but be totally unaware I am chatting about them to someone on the other side of the country. Propagation was pleasantly good this week. Mild QSB but the noise levels were low so even the weaker signals were easy to copy. 80, 40, and 20 meters were all kind to me. I also read a few notes about 15 meter contacts. Soon the bands will open up to a much broader swath of the world. That will be fun; it has been far too long since I could easily work DX stations. I would like to work more of Africa and South America. Please join us tomorrow evening. 1) Hail signs (first letter or two of the suffix of your call) 2) NCS help (as well as QSP/QNP <relay> help) Sunday 2300z (Sunday 3 PM PST) 14050 kHz Monday 0000z (Sunday 4 PM PST) 7045 kHz Stay warm, Kevin. Hi gang,
The weekly Elecraft SSB net meets on Sundays at 1800Z on or about 14.314MHz. I will not be able to be net control station starting this week and running through at least the end of March. Therefore, we need one or more of you to step up and take the net. It isn't difficult. The pace is casual and the group is friendly. It would help if you have an amplifier and a gain antenna, but that may not be critical if you generally put out a good signal. So, how about it - who will seize this opportunity to serve your fellow Elecrafters? 73, Phil, NS7P ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

As I'm typing this I can only hear some very faint signals in the noise on
14.314 MHz. but cannot distinguish any call sign's. I use a Fritzel GPA 30 (1/4 wave vertical) and my K3 S/N 1849.
