Good Evening,
Wow, it is already Saturday evening. Sometimes I wish I could get through my to do list before it expands. However, I thought up more to do than I could do in a month so I can't possibly get it all done in a few days away from work :) Such is life. The weather has been pleasant; the rains have slowed down to the morning mists from the ocean and the temperatures are in the high 60s to low 70s. I am not sure what it is like in the valley but I don't think it is much hotter than here. Soon we have our local airshow where I get to use a microphone for a day. Now to remember my callsign in voice :) I'll write it down so I can read it; I think that is the best way. I don't say it very often so I sometimes forget how. The local NCS on the VHF nets get a kick out of me stumbling over my callsign. There are a couple who know who it is from the pause! One of them told me to just say it in Morse and he'd write it down. The fox hunt was work this Thursday evening. The western op was easy but the one out east took nearly an hour to work. Twenty meters was not carrying his signal very well at first but gradually it got better so by 0220z I was able to hear him plainly. It took a few repetitions to get the exchange complete though. Tomorrow I hope the bands are better than they were then. Relay help will be most welcome since Tom is off basking in the tropics. He is likely having far too much fun to get on the air! Anyone with a strong signal may get roped into calling a few CQs tomorrow. Don't be shy, it is not difficult. Tomorrow: 1) Hail signs (first letter or two of the suffix of your call) 2) NCS help (as well as QSP/QNP <relay> help) Please join us: Sunday 2300z (Sunday 4 PM PDT) 14050 kHz Monday 0200z (Sunday 7 PM PDT) 7045 kHz 73, Kevin. Kevin:
greetings from balmy Kona HI... beautiful place here... been up MUCH too long today and getting ready to crash (0645Z, 2045 LOCAL)... long (8 hour) flight... whew! Whipped. Did NOT bring ANY radio, so y'all have fun and I'll be a'thinkin' about ya. MAY(!) be back in time for next week's net, but no guarantees. 73, Tom >Relay help will be most welcome since Tom is off basking in the >tropics.
