Elecraft CW Net Announcement

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
It is chilly and cloudy with a mist falling as I write this but
Barber's Adagio for Strings is playing and the fire is warm.  Sam has
moved to his box near it and is sleeping soundly.  During the course of
the week there were a few dry days.  With some help from a friend I got
the roof ripped off, the broken rafters replaced, and got the new
sheathing laid down.  I ran out of time to get the project completed
before the wet returned.  It is tacked together and covered with a few
layers of plastic.  I'll insulate soon.
Tomorrow I have volunteered to staff the EOC for a walk/run/bike race.
I'll be on the air starting at 6 AM until 2 PM.  Then I drive home and
hope to get back on the air for the Elecraft Net.  It will be quite a long
day when I finally get to bed!  Looks like the alarm will be set for 4 AM
to get chores done and into town on time.  So if you hear a series of dits
or dahs it means I have fallen asleep on the paddles :)  Because of the
construction my radios are back in my original radio shack.  Drywall dust
and paddles do not mix well.
I was able to get on twenty meters a few times this week.  The band
worked for us so it should be in fair shape for the first of tomorrow's
two nets.  I did not test forty meters but lately it has been good.  I
have not looked at the national weather so have no idea where the storms
will be.  Here it will be very wet and windy; I am happy my NCS job keeps
me inside.  The folks out on the course will not have a pleasant day.  The
walkers, runner, and bikers will be a little warmer but still not enjoying
themselves.  Tonight the temperature is to drop to the low 40s and the
high tomorrow will be about 50 degrees F.

Please join us tomorrow evening.

  Tomorrow:

1) Hail signs  (first letter or two of the suffix of your call)
2) NCS help (as well as QSP/QNP <relay> help)

    Please join us:

Sunday 2300z (Sunday 4 PM PDT) 14050 kHz
Monday 0200z (Sunday 7 PM PDT)  7045 kHz

    73,
       Kevin.  KD5ONS

I used to listen to a Walkman CD player at work, usually classical and
jazz.  A friend offered me a set of Wagner's Ring Cycle CD's.  I explained:

1  Richard Wagner wrote music with concrete notes that are very heavy

2  Never ever listen on a Monday morning.

3  Be careful at other times.

I'll try and make the 20m net, not sure about the 40.
