Elecraft CW Net Announcement

kevinr@coho.net
Good Evening,

It was a cool week so I spent my time inside working on plumbing.  I
needed to find a tool so went to the shed where they're stored.  Then my
eyes wandered to the shelves of books. Three bankers boxes of my Analog
collection came in the house with me.  I began reading science fiction
from the 70s and 80s.  Today I worked my way through a story by George
R. R. Martin from back when he wrote SF.  Haviland Tuf is an interesting
character who learns ecosystem engineering.  If only Hollywood was
interested in making movies instead of special effects.

The solar flux index remains below 70.  SpaceWeather.com has not
mentioned any solar streams hitting the earth so I don't expect much
difference in propagation from last week.  We must be getting close to
the bottom of this cycle.  Maybe next year will see some improvement.

The large tree holding the center of my inverted V is due to be cut
on Tuesday.  I'll drop the antenna and roll it up on Monday.  Hopefully
the tree will fall well and not land on anything important.  Then I'll
shoot a line through the next tree to the east and raise it up again.
As long as it is down I will inspect the connections and fix anything
which needs it.  I should be able to raise it as high as it was before
though there are more branches to avoid.  As long as I am at it I think
I will build a spare cut for twenty meters and raise it too.

Please join us on:

14050 kHz at 2200z Sunday (3 PM PDT Sunday)
7047 kHz at 0000z Monday (5 PM PDT Sunday)

    73,
       Kevin. KD5ONS
