Good Evening,
It will have taken the loggers a little less than a month to thin my
twenty acres. The cutting and skidding is over, only the loading and
trucking remains. I am starting to see more elk sign all around the
house. Once the slash settles into the soil there will be many more
paths for them to follow.
However, I was about to replace one of my antennas when I found the
tree I had used for its eastern facing leg was gone. In fact many of
the limbs of the remaining trees were gone too. I moved the leg to a
new point of the compass and tied it off. Now to move another leg of my
main antenna to near north. That should shift my strongest lobe a
little more to the southeast.
The sun remains inactive but the 160 meter band is anything but. I
scanned it about an hour ago and found it filled with strong signals. A
little noise and a little QSB but copy into MS, CT, MA, ME, and places
west was possible. The signals from EWA were quite loud.
Please join us tomorrow on:
14050 kHz at 2200z Sunday (2 PM PST Sunday)
7047 kHz at 0000z Monday (4 PM PST Sunday)
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS
