Elecraft CW Net Report Aug 15th, 2004

Kevin Rock
ECN/1 was run on 14050 kHz this evening amidst a number of contesters from
all over the place.  Other than trying to pick the wheat from the chaff I
was troubled by a hot radio shack and sticky skin.  Kept my sending to a
less than stellar performance :(  But none the less there were a few folks
willing to put up with me.  Starting with Tom giving me the report that
14050 was as good as it was going to get I shoe horned in and commenced
calling CQ ECN.  Our ND connection, W0CZ, came along and may be waiting
for the Elecraft WAS folks willing to attempt contact on ECN/2 later
today.

On to the list:
N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008
W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031
K2HYD - Ray - VA - KX1 - 608
AB9V - Mike - IN - KX1 - 718
W0NTA - Dick - CO - KX1 - 281
W6KY - Art - CA - K1 - 141
K5VJZ - Tom - LA - K2 - 4279
AI4BJ - Mark - KY - K2 - 3862
AG4ND - Forrest - TN - K2/100 - 2827
W0QQS - Bruce - MN - K2 - 3646
K1EV - Bill - CT - K2 - 2152

As always errors will be reported and repaired upon receipt.

Kevin.  KD5ONS  (Net Control Operator 5th Class)

Art - W6KY
All,
I had just worked a DL in the WAE contest with my K1-2 on 14052.
Went down to 14050 for the ECN. Could not get thru to Kevin in
New Mexico next door from CA, but that's 20 meters. TNX to
TOM, N0SS for the relay....Tom was 599 from MO..
Made about 20 European QSO's today with the K1 B4 and after the ECN....
Tnx for ECN today and just checked in on 40. CU next weekend.

My K2 at 5 watts into dipoles made 158 Q's in 27 EU countries. Only worked about 7 hours.
Could have done a lot better if there had been more EU stations and contries active. I was
able to work all  the contries I heard on 40, 20, and 15, and almost all of the stations
(although in some cases I needed to wait an hour or two for the band to be more open to that
station than I would have with more power).
