Good Evening,
Interesting conditions this evening. Twenty meters was very poor while forty worked quite well. I called a number of times on twenty thinking I may get my first skunk when along came Mike. Signals were nowhere near what they normally run. Ken is normally quite strong to me but tonight on twenty meters he had QSB with a weaker signal. Mike in Colorado is normally very strong too but tonight he was just making the trip. I got a few notes between the nets wondering where I had been. Next came the forty meter net and I was getting and giving great reports. K6DGW and I had a great contact. This is very unusual; lately we've needed a relay to make the short hop between us. Tonight he was LOUD! I was switching between my horizontal G5RV and the one I just raised which is in an inverted V configuration. The V was doing quite well. Tomorrow I am back to work for another solid week. This is good; I enjoy the activity. I'll get to design some more circuitry and software to run the system. But, it means I had better get ready for bed :) The lists => On 14050.50 kHz at 2300z: AB9V - Mike - IN - K2 - 3993 W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031 QNI #160 W0RSR - Mike - CO - K2 - 5767 On 7045.50 kHz at 0200z: VE3XL - Ric - ON - K1 - 968 QNI #140 W6ZH - Pete - CA - K2 - 5138 W0RSR - Mike - CO - K2 - 5767 AB9V - Mike - IN - K2 - 3993 K4DXU - Bill - TN - K2 - 5540 QNI #5 K4JPN - Steve - GA - K2 - 1422 K0JEM - Joel - KS - K1 - 1400 QNI #15 K4GT - Jim - GA - K2 - 2015 W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031 WB8RTJ - Jim - OH - K2 - 5886 K6DGW - Fred - CA - K2 - 4398 WA4MQW - Bob - NC - KX1 - 1466 QNI #5 K6PJV - Dale - CA - K2 - 5345 N0AR - Scott - MN - K2 - 4866 WA7BOC - Roger - WA - K2 - 755 K2HYD - Ray - NC - KX1 - 608 K6PJV - Dale - CA - KX1 - 1472 I hope you had fun this Easter evening because I did. The challenge is part of the enjoyment. I get nervous thinking I'll not hear anyone when along comes the first contact. Then we get to chat a little and see who else we can hear. I know some of you listen to the whole net while others only to parts. Something must be going right because it has been running for quite a spell. Thank you! 73 and Happy Easter, Kevin.
