Elecraft CW Net Report for July 15th & 16th, 2007

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
Tonight we had two K3 on the net.  One of them was Tom's so there was
more than enough time to hear him as he called CQ for us.  The other was
from KI6WX, John.  It would be nice to hear what they sound like from the
other side of the receiver though ;)  Hopefully, in only a few weeks, we
will be hearing more and more of them checking in.
Twenty meters had some QSB but forty was plagued by loud QRN, QRM, and
a little QSB.  Normally I don't hear those storms very well but tonight it
was starting to become bothersome.  However, we had our fair share of
folks sending signal and weather reports from around the continent.  The
ionosphere seems to be in good shape but there were some areas which came
in very well.  One never can tell which station will be loud from week to
week.  Tonight Jay, KT5E, made me jump when he called on forty.  Mike,
W3MC, did the same thing while calling on twenty.
Looks like summer has given us a break for a short while.  Temperatures
are very nice this weekend with partly cloudy skies.  Sam just came in
from sleeping on or under his chair all day.  I think he got chilly as the
sun went behind the trees.  Now he will nap on the couch before bedtime
when he moves to another location to get some real sleep :)  A cat's life
indeed!  I, on the other hand, will get to bed around 12 PM only to get up
at 6 AM to drive into work.  Hmmm ... when I retire I think I want to be a
cat; well, except for the fur balls!

I hope the above lists are as correct as possible.  I keep double
checking but errors still percolate through.  Please send me any fills for
missing information or, heaven forbid, corrections.  Sometimes I have to
guess which rigs you are using because some of you are trying to
single-handedly keep Elecraft in business :)  Soon there will be so much
competition for their much coveted K3 that the waiting list will be a year
long.  But after the first ten thousand ship I think things may slow down
to a little.
    Until next week stay well,
       73,
Kevin.  KD5ONS  (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
