Elecraft CW Net Report for July 29th & 30th, 2007

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
This afternoon twenty meters was filled with cotton and QSB.  But we
were able to squeak a few contacts out.  Forty  meters had its normal QRN
but signal strengths were better there.  It appears I have the coldest
temperature of anywhere I can hear!  Once again I had a fire going to get
rid of the chill.  I my bedroom windows open last night when I went to bed
but getting dressed this morning was quite a brisk experience.  By the
time I had fed Sam and myself I decided to build a fire.  It is going
slowly but it does counteract the chill surrounding the mouth of the
Columbia.  In all directions the temperature reports were at least in the
high 70s, most were in the mid to high 80s.  But, not here; it may have
reached 60 at the warmest point of the day.  Early on we had rainfall from
the morning mist from the ocean which made it damp and cold.  Good
sleeping weather but I keep thinking its fall.

P.S. No deer this week but I was awakened this morning by a persistent saw
whet owl.  I think he was right outside my window at one point but then
faded off into the mists.
