Good Evening,
My ears are still ringing from the QRN on 40 meters! Whew, it was hard to copy at times because the noise got to S5 with signals at S2 or lower. However, between the two nets we had 40 check ins. That is the most ever for any Sunday! Yippee, I think we may be on to something :) Thanks go out to first of all Tom, N0SS, for doing very fine work in the middle of the continent. And thanks to you all for joining us on the air. I know I missed a couple but the noise on 40 made things rough. The first net was forty minutes in length but I think we got them all on 20 meters while the second net ran for over an hour. It looks like I'll have to put in an hour or so on the database to get caught up. I may just copy everything over to a larger sheet or branch it to multiple sheets to ease the scrolling. 497 different folks have checked in since we started in June of 2002 for a total of 3451 times. I have no clue how many times I have run the net :) I have missed a couple but others have taken on the task. What makes it tough to count is we jumped from one net each week to two nets back to one and then back again to two. I would have to count week by week to keep track. I did finally put my serial number into the database though. Since I checked in with Tom from KL7V/5's house in Oklahoma I figure I am now part of things :) There are 373 serial numbers listed. I don't have all of you in there yet but we will keep trying. Like I mentioned earlier I need to get the database updated as well as the website. When the dry season starts I will be home for as long as it takes to get the carpentry and roofing finished. I may be able to squeeze in time to do the aforementioned work so all will be up to date. Typing after a day of pounding nails is not always easy though. We shall see how all of the work progresses. After a few weeks of carpentry I should be in fine shape. The first few days should either make or break me :) Luckily I have this 27 year old nephew who may prove useful in lifting and carrying things. As long as he does not fall off the roof or cut off any fingers! Thanks for the enjoyable nets today. 73, Kevin.
