Good evening,
The 20 meter net was in the middle of an active contest so my hearing floor was much higher. I did pull out a few of you by closing my filters down to 500 Hz. I try to run with them wide open so I can hear around my working frequency. I am sure I missed a few of you to the contest noise. On 40 meters the noise was of a different type. Tom told me I had flutter right off the bat but I only heard it on Dave's (N7AF) signal. There was a steady increase in QRN from storms somewhere in the Midwest. Ken's (W0CZ) signal was not effected by it nor were Dave (N7AF), Karl (N7NLU), and Art (KG6HSI). By the end I was hearing partial calls but not sure if they were directed at me or not. There was a KL7 call which was persistent but I could not get completed. Sorry if I missed you but thank you for trying. We do have a coronal mass ejection on the way but I am pretty sure the propagation was not effected by it yet. We will have to wait for a little while for that. But maybe we will be treated to some more auroral displays. Then we can get on 6 meter CW and see how we do ;) On 14051 kHz at 2300z: W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031 N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008 QNI #90!! I appreciate your support. Next week is the second anniversary of the Elecraft CW Net. I hope the propagation is as good as it was on Friday or Saturday. Then we will have a great turnout for our reunion. Hope the bands are settled down by then. Any errors in the above lists are mine. If you have any corrections or additions please send them to me and I will post an update and fix my database. 73, Kevin.
