Elecraft CW Net Report for November 4th, 2012

kevinr@coho.net
Good Evening,
The twenty meter net never got underway due to high SS activity. On
forty meters I waited for the chatter to die down and ran on 7045 kHz.
Conditions were pretty good with some noise and medium fading. Except
for Texas at 77 and California at 88 the rest of us were having rather
chilly temperatures :)  My first frost is due on Thursday with the first
snow showers on Friday.  The transition from summer to winter is
different out here.  It is better to think of two seasons and be
satisfied with the dry and the rainy.

  On to the list =>

   On 7045 kHz at 0300z:
W8OV - Dave - TX - K3 - 3139
W0CZ - Ken - ND - K3 - 457
K0DTJ - Brian - CA - K3 - 4113

In Oregon we vote by mail.  They give us a few weeks to figure out
our votes and mail them in.  It is very convenient.  I cannot imagine
having to drive into town and fight the lines to be able to vote.  I
hope the weather cooperates next Tuesday and they get power back to the
blacked out areas.  I know only too well what it is like to be without
power in the winter; but I have a wood stove, a camp stove, lanterns,
and other survival stuff so I can deal with it. Black outs are a great
time to get caught up on my reading :)
    Until next week stay well,
       73,
Kevin.  KD5ONS  (Net Control Operator 5th Class)

My good friend Mike, KD9KC, in El Paso tells me they have two seasons:
Summer and Christmas.  After nearly 4 years in SE Asia, I'm addicted to
the tropics, although I have photos of us in field jackets around Dec.
Temps might have been 65 ... at night.

Was in SS, on 80 when you were on 40.
