Good Evening,
The QSB was hard on the folks to the East. I only noticed it from the folks West of me: AH6RE, W6KIP, and NK6A. It was not too bad for me though, slow and moderately deep. A few folks East of me did complain since it was a flutter to them. I find that the toughest because one loses too many dits to make a lot of sense of things. There was a little noise but not bad on my end. I did have to struggle through some very strong QRM at times. A couple were right on frequency but one was off the side with a strong click. As long as my ear drums don't touch I do fine ;) It was good to hear so many folks on the air this evening. Yesterday I got to listen to the JOTA folks but was working on CW training more than I was able to get on the air so I heard the SSB folks. We had three young lady explorer scouts who got the lion's (lioness's?) share of the contacts. All the scout boys wanted to talk with them ;) We had six stations set up at one point so the kids could work on slow scan TV, CW, SSB, or packet. SSB was represented a few times on multiple bands. It was fun but a bit chilly and wet. Good thing the mayor of the town was there to unlock the power so we could run from within the park shelter. At 2300z on 14050 kHz were gathered: N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008 K2HYD - Ray - VA - KX1 - 608 N9IV - Russ - IN - ? Could not get your rig. What is this going to be like when the solar cycle starts to climb back up again? We may have to call be region again. Don't hold your breath though, it is going to be a little bit before it gets too tough to split the pileups! As ever, if there are any errors or fills for the above list please email me and I will post them and correct my database. 73, Kevin.
