Good Evening,
Twenty meters was weak and full of QSB. As usual, during the summer months, forty meters had QRN but less QSB. Once I got around the lightning crashes I was able to copy folks with a few fills. Thanks for the repetition it really helps. Toward the end I was starting to worry about Sam. He was out on the deck but it was getting dark. Prime time for coyotes to come after cats. But he was OK and is now bugging me :) Tomorrow I get to try the chainsaw again. I found out today how much strength has been sapped by sitting at a desk for too many months. I tried limbing some of the downed trees and was unable to run through a tank of gas. Limbing on the top was easy but holding the chainsaw up to get the bottom limbs will take some practice. By winter I should be healthy, happy, and a bit less round! I have quite a few chores which will make up my exercise plan. Who needs a gym when you've got twenty acres and a wood stove? Oops, I see another. Need a rig and a serial number but not for the same op. Oh well, it was fun; and there is another K3 in the log. Soon they'll be exploding like daffodils in spring! Once I get my house in shape I will check my bank balance. If the carpentry, roofing, drywalling, etc was not too expensive I'll ask Lisa (nicely) if I can have a K3 for Christmas. I hope to see you all again next week. Tom will be off working comms for a local event so yours truly will be NCS for each net for the entire time. Looks like I have not lost my 'skills' yet so I shall carry on. The chainsaw work did take its toll however. At one point I got my forefinger stuck between the paddles! Until next week: stay well, 73, Kevin.
