Good Evening,
I got a very strange look from a Gray Jay on Friday. I was getting
ready to do the dishes so gave them bits of this and that for a treat.
A little popcorn, some oatmeal, a little rice, a heel of bread, and some
beans. The beans were what gained me the look. I had made them with
three fresh, sliced jalapeños. There is just no accounting for tastes :)
Twenty meters was long again. As I was looking for an open
frequency I heard W1AET very well from Georgia. There was also a lot of
noise on it. Forty meters only had a few "whistlers" pass through but
was fairly quiet in comparison.
On 17049.5 kHz at 2300z:
W0CZ - Ken - ND
AB9V - Mike - IN
K6XK - Roy - IA
K4JPN - Steve - GA
On 7044.5 kHz at 0100z:
W0CZ - Ken - ND
K0DTJ - Brian - CA
K6PJV - Dale - CA
K7TV - Erik - AZ
From all the weather reports I received it appears the cold snap is
moving out of the Midwest and South. Folks in the Northeast are still
rather chilly. Makes this a good time of year to sit next to the fire
in front of your Elecraft rig working a new one.
Until next week 73,
Kevin. KD5ONS
