Howdy Folks,
I am going to play things a little differently this coming Sunday.
I've been invited down to Hillsboro for a picnic to fete the folks who
worked comms at the local airshow. I wish to take my K2, some antenna
wire, and the rest of my gear down to the park where they are having the
feast to show folks how a CW net sounds. I will need your help to relay
stations in since I'll be in the city with its RF noise problems, a
definite lack of elevation, and a temporary antenna to lessen my hearing
ability. I may have to run lower power than normal too so you all may
have to push your rigs to hear me. But, if I get a few folks to help
relay stations, or even act as NCS folks I'd be much obliged.
Please think about working as NCS or a relay station so we can show the
CERT and ARES folks how much fun it is to get on HF and work with friends
across the continent. I'll be under observation so my normally 'sporadic'
fist will grow a bit more shakey. Bear with me while folks tweak me from
both ends ;) It should be fun, enlightening, and a bit stressful for poor
Kevin. However, if we can gain even one op to the CW fold we've more than
won. We may even sell a few of Wayne's rigs too!! I think he and Eric
would get a kick out of that.
I'll write more later but simply wanted to provide a bit of information
on what is to occur this Sunday.
Until then stay as cool as you can,
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
