Elecraft FTDI N1MM

Mike K4PI
I noticed that Elecraft if now offering a FTDI cable.  When I bought my K3 they only had a Prolific cable.  It works fine for downloading Elecraft updates but have never been able to get it working on N1MM.  Wonder if anyone has used the FTDI cable offered by Elecraft to control their K3 via N1MM?  Everything I read points toward using FTDI type cables with the K3/N1MM combo.  73 Mike K4PI

Mike,

The Prolific cable always worked for me on Windows XP but when I
upgraded to Win 7 I could not find a driver that would not blue-screen
the system.  The new FTDI cable works great with all software I've
tried, including N1MM.

Re: Elecraft FTDI N1MM

Guy, K2AV
64 bit Windows 7 drivers seemed to have the problems (true for many
things other than Prolific USB chips).  The newest drivers for 64 bit
W7 work for my old Elecraft Prolific cable, and I now use it for
various chores.  Before the problems were solved though, I gave up and
put in a PCI express serial card into one of the video slots which I
will never use, and ceased to have problems of any sort.
