Elecraft K2 firmware update

W4RAM
This post was updated on .
Good morning,
I am looking for assistance with the following:
My Elecraft K2 show firmware version: 2.01 and 1.02.
Is the #FWK2MCIO the correct kit that I need to update the firmware to 2.04
and 1.09?
If the K2 have the KSB2 SSB Module, do I need complete any other firmware
upgrade?
NOTE: According before owner information my K2 have the revision B installed.

Thank you for any advice and assistance.

V/R

Al

Re: Elecraft K2 firmware update

Al,

Yes, that is the current level firmware, and you do not need to update
the KSB2 firmware unless you want the latest functions.
Before updating the firmware, download the K2 A to B instructions.  It
has a nice chart for recording your menu settings - they will all be
reset.  You will need the internal counter probe to record the BFO settings.
If your K2 serial number is below 3000 and you have not installed the
KIO2 or the KPA100, you will have to make the Control Board modification
for the sidetone source.  The mod is shown in the KIO2 and the KPA100
manuals.
