Elecraft Net Report for 20 and 40 meters for Sept 5th, 2004

Kevin Rock
Good Evening,
Both 20 and 40 meters were good tonight.  Signals were a little weaker
on 40 but both of them were easily worked.  Tom helped me grab a few
weaker ones.  The most interesting catch was from Sarasota, Florida.
Looking at the weather map at 2400z you'll find they had a bit of a lull
then.  The eye of tropical storm Frances was passing over.  I did not get
all of his information since he was sending faster than I could copy and
Tom had run off on an errand but I am pretty sure I heard KX1.  I did not
want to ask him for a repeat because he had other things to worry about.
I'll get fill later but this will make an interesting story for Wayne's
KX1 files :)  We also had a check in on 40 meters from a fellow with a
Sierra rig.  I'll need a ruling from Wayne on whether we get SNs from them
or should I just label it non-Elecraft?  Hmmm... I'd think Wayne would
want to keep one of his childen as part of the group.

    On to both lists:
=> 20 meters on 14049 kHz.
N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008
W0NTA - Dick - CO - K2 - 1787   (you rig collector!)
VE1RGB - Gary - NS - K2 - 2519
AH6RE - Curt - HI - K1 - 464
K2HYD - Ray - VI - KX1 - 608
W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031
N2YC - John - NY - KX1 - 336
KD6MES - Tom - CA - non-Elecraft
W0RW - Paul - CO - KX1 - 292
NC1C - Dave - MA - K2 - 3499
WU3L - Frank - PA - non-Elecraft
W4BM - Bert - FL - KX1?   Copy was not easy.  From Sarasota, FL within the
eye of Frances!!!!

=> 40 meters on 7045.5 kHz
N0SS - Tom - MO - K2 - 008
W6KY - Art - CA - K1 - 141
W4IA - Ron - GA - KX1 - 752
W8ZT - Anthony - K2 - 0652
W0CZ - Ken - ND - K2 - 1031
N9IV - Russ - IN - KX1 - 742
NE5DL - Dave - TX - K2 - 2887
N2YC - John - NY - KX1 - 336
AB2SI - Carl - NY - K2 - 4273
AA2YV - Bill - NY - non-Elecraft but it is a Sierra :)
K4YKI - Norm - KY - K1 - 760
WA7BOC - Roger - WA - K2 - 755

As always the errors in this list are mine.  Please send me any fills or
corrections and I will add them to the database and post them to the
Reflector.

Thank you all very much for a lot of fun.  It just gets better.  We passed
the 800 QNI milestone tonight.  We are at 820 QNI from 220 folks.  The
serial number list should pass 200 soon.  Some folks really enjoy racking
up their numbers too.  There are 5 folks with over 30 QNI, and 15 with
over 15 check ins.  Seems like something is going right.  It can't be me
it must be the Elecraft allure :)

Take care and have a safe holiday tomorrow.  I am off to see some
Shakespeare in the Park so I can get some culture :)
    73,
Kevin.  KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)

Kevin:

It's been a while since I played with my Sierra, but I don't recall them
ever having serial numbers!  Still a fine little rig, though.
