Good Evening,
Both nets went well this evening. There were a few times where I only heard a steady tone though. I need to somehow break up check ins a little so I can hear more call signs instead of the steady howl. Sounds good but it is unproductive. North Dakota is still cold. Not like this is earth shattering news but I still get a kick out of hearing about where I have many relatives. One of these days I need to get back up there again. This report will take a few days to be posted since qth.net is down. I tried both the Elecraft Reflector and QRP-l; both of them bounce my messages. I now know where my announcement ran off to because I was not using this computer to write it. Or rather I did send it from this one only to shut the computer down and go back to the computer in the warm part of the house. One of these days I will move this computer to the new work area but currently it is not to be. I will have to move everything when I rebuild that area when the dry season starts so I keep this computer in a stable area. The tree did not fall on this room. Or rather nothing penetrated the roof over it. One of the few rooms in the house with no damage. On 14050 kHz at 2300z: W3MC - Mike - MD - K2 - 5568 QNI #10! Without you all calling me it would not be as much fun. I do appreciate what ECN has become. We've change a little over the years but what I was trying to do in the beginning has evolved only slightly. Procedures have changed, times have changed, but there is something about the nets which seems to draw folks back. I even get comments from folks who only read my weekly notes. I will keep running the nets as long as you want them. I think they may go on for quite a long time to come. I do appreciate your input. Since this cannot be sent out this evening I'll simply leave it on my computer and send it when the QTH mailing system is feeling better. When there are a lot of messages showing up on the Elecraft Reflector you will read this message and my weekly announcement. Until then 73, Kevin.
