Perhaps I've missed this over the months\years... Can someone shed any light, on what paint color the Elecraft equipment is sprayed before We buy from the boys..? Is there a Part No. Etc that one should know...? Does someone on the list know of another spray paint product name part no. That might Come close to the finished color we are so used to..? Finally where could this be possibly be purchased..? You can order a 1oz bottle of touch up paint for the K1/K2 for $10US. Go to the Elecraft web site and click the order form under the picture of the K3. Click on the link for "Spare Parts, Firmware & Mod Kits" in the Index area at the top of the page. You will see the link for "Touch Up Paint for the K1, K2" on the right. This question caused me to remember a conversation that I had with Lisa shortly after placing my K3 order last June. I had just completed my XV50 for use with my K2. I immediately thought about building an XV144 for use with the K3 that I am expecting in the next few weeks. I placed a call to Lisa and asked if Elecraft had any plans to offer replacement XV144 enclosure panels silkscreened and painted to match the newly decked-out K3. She commented that no one had requested that as of that moment, but it made sense and they would add it to the "list". So, if anyone is, by chance, considering buying K3-style spray paint to repaint your XV series transverter enclosure to match your new K3, an Elecraft solution may be in the offing. (Doubtful that it is HIGH on their list, but it was acknowledged).
