Elecraft and satellite communications

John Wiener
Hi!

Just read the chapter on Satellite Communications in the new ARRL
Handbook.  Anyone care to share experience with Elecraft gear and
satellites?  Or, is there a web page for Satellite Communications
with K2 and transverters, etc.?

Thanks!

John

Re: Elecraft and satellite communications

Hello John,

So far I've listened to a few of the OSCARs with the K2 and an old 70cm
transverter and it works very well.  The main problem is using it for the
uplink - it won't change frequency while transmitting.  Also it can only be
used for the SSB/CW birds.  With a decent transverter it  is an excellent
downlink receiver.
Despite all this, mine will get quite a lot of use when P3E and EAGLE get into
space.
