Elecraft vs. Ten-Tec

Bob-165
I am sure it has already been debated or discussed, however is there
anyone who now has had some time with their K3 who is also familiar
with the Tentec Orion and Omni that can provide me with an unbiased
opinion as to the pros and cons of each unit as they compare?

Thanks
Bob

Hi Bob, (...& the group, of course.)

While not the K3 v. Orion, I do have some experience with the K1 & K2 v. the
Jupiter & Argonaut V. They are all stable-mates in my shack. From a purist's
point of view, the Elecraft rigs' scientific measurement data cannot be
disputed. Elecraft wins, hands down.

>From a more casual "enjoyment factor" aspect, all the above named rigs are
an absolutely joy to operate. (I'm a sucker for an analog meter, hence my
affection for the Argo V.) If absolute receiver performance is your aim
though, I doubt you can go wrong with any Elecraft rig. (The mojo's an added
benefit.)

Wishing you all a very safe, healthy and happy new year. Take care es...
