Winter has set in here in the Northeast (PA) and we
have had snow on the ground since Thanksgiving. This is bad for the aninals and birds who need food and can't get it through the snow cover. A more serious problem, however is the need for indoor activity for kit builders. My kit resources are exhausted with a K2 s/n 1014, a T1, a KX1 s/n 1310 just completed and even an XG2. I don't need any transverters and the K1 just seems like a let down after the K2 and KX1. What is the bored Ham to do ? Elecraft we need emergency help....please send more kits ASAP ! 73's and Merry Xmas W8HQ __________________________________________ Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. If you've been feeling depressed, low, and irregular ever since you got your K1, the best all-round compact QRP rig ever made, now you know why. I only wish I'd been smart enough to see it earlier. I have a K1, K2, and KX1 and I enjoy them all. I can't agree that the K1 is
a let down. It is a great little rig. On 12/23/05, Mike Morrow <[hidden email]> wrote: > > It was written: > > >... the K1 just seems like a let down after the K2 and KX1. > > There it is, K1 owners! I have them all too, and they each have their place. The KX1 is the most
narrowly specialized. The K2 is the most capable. The K1 is my favorite. Its all-round capabilities and very sweet CW sound have never been a let down. Folks,
I too enjoy all my Elecraft radios and kits; as noted by many, each has its own special place, and my favorite is the one I am using for its advantages at the moment; I would miss any of them. Okay, I admit it; if I had to reduce to only one, I would keep my K2, but am sure glad to have them all; many thanks to Elecraft and its gang, and the nice folks who helped me along the way, from building to helping me build and get operating, and so on, without whom I would be missing all this fun. 73 de Dave, W5SV. ".I don't need any transverters and the K1 just seems
like a let down after the K2 and KX1." As an owner of a K1, K2 and KX1 I'd have to disagree. The K1 is a great rig (not just a "little" rig) and it's fun to work on and work with. If you need an extra challenge you could always build it for 160m! Hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year! , Lonnie NY2LJ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
