Hi to everyone,
We have a pretty bad problem here.... In our VHF club station we decided to go for a new rig, and started to use a K2+XV144. On SSB it's all ok, but on CW i can't figure out how to deal with ptt sequencing.... We have a mast mounted LNA and a PA next to the radio. My idea, in order to avoid troubles with the LNA was to use as always our ptt interface: basically with a foot switch we start the sequencing from TX to RX deactivating at first the PA, then the radio, and finally switching the LNA back on. From RX to TX the order is backward :-) The sequencer works pretty good on SSB, cause when the interface give the command to the K2 (via the MIC socket) everything goes fine. The problem shows up on CW cause the break-in function of the K2 goes independently from the sequencer, and I don't want this to happen.... I've to find out how to force an external PTT for CW independent from the paddles... so if I don't press the PTT switch the radio will not go TX even if I squeeze the paddles. Any Idea??? tnx in advance de Giulio IW3HVB _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Giulio,
Take a look at the K2 CW PTT article on my website http://w3fpr.qrpradio.com for something that will work for you. It prevents keying the K2 until an external signal (PTT or the end of your sequencer chain) becomes active (ground is active). How you begin the sequencer is your question to answer - I would suggest a footswitch. 73, Don W3FPR Giulio Pico wrote: > Hi to everyone, > > We have a pretty bad problem here.... > > In our VHF club station we decided to go for a new rig, and started to use a > K2+XV144. > > On SSB it's all ok, but on CW i can't figure out how to deal with ptt > sequencing.... > > We have a mast mounted LNA and a PA next to the radio. > > My idea, in order to avoid troubles with the LNA was to use as always our > ptt interface: > basically with a foot switch we start the sequencing from TX to RX > deactivating at first the PA, then the radio, and finally switching the LNA > back on.
