There have been lots of very good ideas on what we should do for next
field day.
The best ones are based on only a few like minded people at any given
site. Competing for large point totals was not even on the list. Working
CW from simple antennas using battery powered rigs run by two or three ops
max was the most popular idea. That is the way I would like to go for
next year. It seems the desire is to go back to how Field Day started so
long ago; emergency communications from the field using whatever means
possible. Points were not an issue. If you were able to get an antenna
up, get your rig running from emergency power, and make a few contacts you
have won. If we each do this next year we can all win big time by
learning from each other.
