I especially recommend the book about Ubuntu...incidentally, I am
replying to this email with Evolution, running Ubuntu. Let me tell you, Ubuntu is a sweet distro, easy for the novice to learn... 'Course, if you're a true masochist (myself) you'll like Gentoo. That's a real down-and-dirty distro right there... :-) On Mon, 2006-10-16 at 08:40 -0700, Rod Ai7NN wrote: > Title: Building & Using Baluns and Ununs > Author: Jerry Sevick, W2FMI > Pub: CQ Communications, INC > Copyright 1994, Third Printing 2002 > ISBN: 0-943016-09-6 > PRICE: $10 Shipped CONUS > Like new condition > > > Title: Digital Signal Processing Technology > Author: Doug Smith, KF6DX > Pub: ARRL > Copyright 2001 > ISBN: 0-87259-819-5 > PRICE: $35 Shipped CONUS > Like new condition > > > Title: Beginning Ubuntu Linux: From Novice to Professional > Author: Keir Thomas > Pub: Apress > Copyright 2006 > ISBN: 1-59059-627-7 > Note: Book includes CD with full Ubuntu 5.10 > "Breezy Badger" - Release i386 > PRICE: $30 Shipped CONUS > Like new condition -- Justin L Croonenberghs <[hidden email]> _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Then I was finally allowed an antenna by the Landlord, so I became active again. Only to find I was unable to even get echolink running in wine, nor was I able to get any other of about 10 pgms I wanted to use to run or find a *satisfactory* equivalent in linux. So I ended back on the dark side with xp for my ham needs. Bottom line, what ever OS fits you needs is the one to run.
