For sale: RF Power Labs A1000 solid state amplifier. Uses 4 x TRW PT9780 28V transistors (by Motorola; similar to MRF422)). Self contained with power supply wired for 110V. Total weight about 40lb. Oversize components. High SWR protection. Output filters for 160-10m with provisions for electronic band switching. Main electrolytic capacitor replaced with a newer one with twice the capacitance.
It has a large sink and can operated be operated silently without any fan although the fan connection is included for heavy duty contesting. Requires about 15W for full power on 160m and about 60W on 10m. With input components modified, driving requirements may be lowered. May be perfect as a companion for K2 or K3 QRP.
I used it for 10 years with TS-850 and K2/QRP. Worked very well through normal QSOs and many contests. Two big advantages were no tune and silence. Also no detectable heat when idle. Very reliable.
