FW: Re: K3 - removable faceplate - K3/0 Mini (Buzz W3EMD))

James Beitchman
Bill and others interested

I, too, saw the K3/0 Mini at Dayton and have been tracking it.  At Dayton
they said fall 2013 availability.  I called Elecraft the other day and spoke
with Brandon who is the system engineer/developer.  He said they might ship
a few before Christmas, but real availability will be after the New Year.
The unit still requires the external RemoteRig box, but there will be a
simplification of the cable interface compared to the current K3/0 and the
key will plug directly into the K3/0 rather than the RemoteRig box.  There
is a waiting list for purchase and you can get on it by calling the company.

Can't wait to operate remote from my NYC apartment to my shack 100 miles
upstate.

Interesting pictures, but what happened to it? Any idea if it will get

produced?

Thanks,

Bill-3
I'll wait until they are released. Then I can read how they are doing
and what all they entail. I realize this is not a true remote faceplate
- which is, for my particular circumstance, disappointing.

Unless you have enjoyed the "place it anywhere" faceplate of the TS-480,
you would not know what I am talking about.

Thanks,

Bill W2BLC K-Line
