Well, the Heil Hospital page is for returning (at $12 or more) for them to
repair. I couldn't find any parts on the site - It says to call them if it's not listed. Of course, they don't answer (actually, it's been busy for quite some time). The RatShack 270-090 sure looks identical. I'll just run that. Thanks for the voltages. Now I know the old element was toast. Hi Dan, You might have a bad mic or mic connector or cable problem. The electret element in the MH2 draws very little current, so it should not load the 5V on the AF wire but slightly. I see about 1.7K to 1.5K to ground between mic pins 1 and 7 on two different MH2 mics I have here. On my KSB2, P1-5 has 5.0VDC without the MH2 connected, and 4.0VDC with it plugged in. Heil handles QC problems with their mics directly. If you can't get through to Heil we will certaily handle it. He must be dreaming :-) That would be impossible since a K3 prototype does not exist. And I would know. Also, we do not have any operations in Singapore or anywhere else in Asia.. We are always working on potential new products in the lab, but I certainly do not see another main HF rig in the near term. Thank you very much for your informative advice. Although I fully apprecipate the great performance of K2, this nice small rig seems not very popular in Hong Kong. Perhaps, local hams are just interested in multi-function rigs instead of high performance one. I would just wonder whether there are hams from Mainland China in this reflector who can advise K2's presence in PRC.
