Howdy Gang:
I'm eagerly awaiting a report from Wayne N6KR on how the KX3 performed during Field Day. I took my K2 out to the field on Saturday for Field Day and used my PAR EFHW for 40/20/10M and made 30 QSO's in just over an hour. 10 meters was excellent for about an hour at 1900Z but didn't hear anything west of the Mississippi. I did manage to get a 579 report from Sao Paulo, Brazil during a QSO with a non-FD DX station. WX here in southeastern North Carolina was sunny and hot...93F with high humidity but it was tolerable compared to last year at this time. 20M was wall to wall full of signals and 40M was productive as well...15M had a bunch of signals too. I'm always amazed at how full the bands are during Field Day (especially the CW areas) and then how sparse it can be even on a normal weekend. Sure looking forward to using a new KX3 next year at Field Day. Here's hoping Wayne can give us a detailed report on the KX3's performance under crowded band conditions. See y'all at Field Day next year. 73, Joe W2KJ I QRP, therefore I am ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
