I don't know why I get pleasantly surprised by all the neat little goodies
tucked into these revisions, but it is so nice to see improvements and new features showing up on the K3 hardware platform through firmware revisions. Even though I like to think of myself as a CW only op, the SSB TX adjustments sure help. I like the fact that my DSP filter now goes in 100kHz steps rather than 200kHz steps above 2000kHz. I'm still trying to find a use for Alt1/Alt2, but at least it is there when I think of a good use. And the rig just sounds better (that's a qualitative technical term) too. Thanks Elecraft!! Hi Bob.
I set ALT1 with filter FC of 1000 Hz and about 700 Hz wide. I used this for most digital modes other than FSK-D or AFSK. I set ALT2 with a LO of 900 Hz and a Hi of 2.4 kHz for SSTV. Now all I have to do is recall these on demand when needed. 73 Greg AB7R -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]On Behalf Of Bob Evans Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2008 6:13 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] Firmware 1.75...WOW! Hi Bob:

For em, I find that Alt1 and Alt2 are soooo much more useful than the I/II presets because now I have three 'hard' (fixed) presets, two of which I can preset to parameters _I_ want to be able to access, KNOWING what they'll be each and every time I select them. No more worrying about where I had presets I and II configured when left them the last time and where they'll be the next time I try to use them. 73, Tom N0SS _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
